Julep Maven February 2014 "Dramatic Collection" Review

Hello ladies! It's time for another Maven box review! (Already? Didn't I just do one of these posts? Time flies!) Today I have the Dramatic collection to share. I ended up purchasing a few add-ons and a free polish came this month, so there are more than normal.

For those of you who don't know, Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription service. For $19.99 a month you receive three polishes/two polishes and a beauty product/two beauty products each month depending on your preferences at sign up. Each month Julep creates unique colors to go with each "style profile" so you always have fresh colors for the season. It's like getting a present each month! To be totally transparent, this is a recurring subscription service, if you don't cancel your sub before the 24th of each month, you will be charged and sent your monthly maven box. However, you can cancel at absolutely any time without a fee! There is a code for your first Maven box free at the bottom of this post!

I hope you enjoy this months swatches!

Julep Maven Dramatic Collection
My first mani-tage!

The Dramatic Collection with all its contents. This month the owner of Julep included a free gift the polish Love with the golden cap. From left to right is Julep Roony, Greta, Cameron, Love, and Kristen. Greta and Kristen were added onto my regular maven box. The beauty item this month was a cream eye shadow which I chose in the color Dusty Taupe.

This is the eye shadow, it was a really lovely color, but I already own tons of brown shadows, so I opted to keep it sealed to trade or swap with some of the other online makeup/polish fanatics. However, you can see swatches here.

I'll start with the two that originally came in my February Boho Glam box and my absolute favorite of the collection, Cameron. It's described as Silver lilac stardust. I would call it a lavender shimmer textured polish. This is two coats.
Wow. I feel like I have ten glistening gems on my fingers! When I was swatching these I purposefully kept this one for last so I could keep it on. Love, love, love. Julep nailed it on this one!

Julep Roony described as Walnut bark crème. I would call it a jelly chocolate brown. Pictured with three coats.
This an odd one. How can I describe the consistency? Anyone who owns a lot of Julep will know what I'm talking about when I say that some of their polish feel like applying liquid latex, or honey without all the stickyness. Almost a little hard to spread unless you have the perfect amount of polish on the brush. None the less, I like the color.

Next is Jane's gift to all the Mavens, Julep Love. It's on the accent finger over Greta. The polish is the thick gold micro glitter with bring pink glitters sprinkled without. I really appreciate the sentiment of including an additional Valentine themed polish to all the mavens however, this specific one isn't my favorite. That's okay though, I'm sure I'll find an awesome home for Love! This is one coat over Greta.

Julep Kristen is described as Deep sea teal with silver micro shimmer and was my first addon choice! This is two coats but one probably would have been fine! Totally a stunning color, when it first arrived I thought the silver would be overpowering, but it compliments the teal so much.

Julep Greta is described as a Loganberry multidimensional mircoglitter. I would call it a bright fuchsia microglitter. I used two coats for the photos above.
Let me just say, I do not re-Greta buying this polish. It's the perf pink for Valentine's day! Some people complained that their Greta was purple, but mine is perfect!

Lastly, Julep always includes an inspirational quote in each of their maven boxes -
"I came to live out loud."

Remember, your first box is free with the code FREEBOX! Just pay $3.99 in shipping. You can click here and Take the Maven Style Quiz  or on the picture below! Thanks for looking, have fun and stay polished!
